Backpack Assistant

Strathcona Community Centre is seeking a community-minded individual with an interest in food and food security to support the center’s Backpack Program. The Backpack Program provides direct access to fresh, nutritious food for community members experiencing food insecurity, offering support in a respectful and dignified way. Each week, the program distributes fresh produce boxes and dry good to 130 families—serving approximately 600 individuals

Start Date: September 4, 2025 - June 26, 2026, Rate of Pay $19.85/hour, 15 hrs per week

Breakfast Assistant (On Call & Casual )

Strathcona Community Centre is seeking a community-minded individual with an interest in food and working with youth to support the Breakfast Program during the 2025-2026 school year. This position is on call and casual. The assistant may be contacted the night before or the morning of to cover staff absences or scheduled to cover planned days off. Additional shifts may also arise to support special event such as the annual volunteer appreciation lunch or other busy program days.
